Some of the fruits they have are mangoes, papayas, pineapples, melons, and bananas. Maranan is a fruit off of the cashew tree that is famous to Costa...

San Andres has no American fast food. I figured somewhere didn't have it. I am surprised that there are that many fast food places. When in London and France a few years ago, all I saw was McDonalds and the prices were...

Beans and Rice are not authentic to the United States, but we eat them all of the time. I am in Texas so we have TexMex restaurants everywhere. I really probably had nothing that would taste the same as the Costa Rican style, but on the other hand it is...

These deserts just don't sound too appealing. American desserts have a much larger variety, but I suppose that also helps contribute to us being overweight as...

You know one of the things I would be worried about losing is my passport. I had an aunt that lost her passport while we were in Paris, France. Just make sure no one can possibly get access to your passport. If you have to hide it in your underwear then...

They celebrate these other holidays as well:

    Mothers Day

Independence Day (which for them is September 15th)

Labor Day (which for them is May 1st)

    New Years Day

And there are many more holidays that the Americans don't...

Do properties usually get snatched up fairly quick. I saw someone on this site had posted a lot for sale and had tons of responses without even seeing the lot. Is the housing market booming, does it just depend on the area the home is...

That is very valuable information if you are looking for a lot in Costa Rica. I never would have figured they would change the price according to where it is posted. It seems smart of the land owner to do that though, Americans don't know any better....

It really depends on how much you want to spend. We stayed just one night there and we stayed at Fuego Arenal. Absolutely nothing fancy, more or less like an American Motel 6, it only cost us about 50.00, but you can see the whole volcano from your...

Keep this min mind... . Some people like to call Costa Rica various things like Puerto Rico or Costa Rico. Costa Rica translates to "Rich Coast"... check out Costa Rica. Costa Rica is also two words, not one, ie: Costarica or CostaRico. San Jose is the capitol city of Costa Rica. The San Jose International Aiport (SJO) is really located in Alajuela, Costa Rica (about 15 km from the Capital San Jose).
