When I visited Alajuela, I was a bit annoyed when I tried to find simple things for the bed and breakfast I was helping... such as towels, soaps, items that girls want to use and feel pampered.

Where are all the sundry shops in Alajuela?...

Are there cookbooks available for local recipes from Costa Rica? What are the local favorites? You have chili in Texas,... in Boston, oysters in Louisiana, gumbo in Mississippi, philly cheese steak in (guess where).

Is it true that cacao boeans were used at one time as a currency in Costa Rica? I have been reading a lot about... an interesting article that mentioned that piece of information?

How did they actually use the beans for currency?...

While I am traveling, how do I go about finding a medical facility. Do they accept insurance from the States?

Well, I may be out of my mind, but then again that could just be because I was trying to get downtown to go to the... grocery store and I was so sick from food poisoning from the icky pork chop I ate that the smells were especially bad!...

Was it just me, or was the air in Alajuela especially stinky? There were so many fumes I couldn't even breathe without... If the result of people carpooling and riding the buses instead turns our air into what theirs smells like, no thanks....

When travelling in Costa Rica, I found that one of the most enjoyable things to do was to go shopping in the open... manning their "stores". If I was unfamiliar with a particular fruit or vegetable, they would let me have a taste.

One of my favorite things to do while I was in Costa Rica was going to the open markets where all of the fruits and... samples of their fruits or veggies if you were unfamiliar.

The variety was amazing and trying new things was great!...

Costa Rica is also two words, not one, ie: Costarica or CostaRico. San Jose is the capitol city of Costa Rica.
